The History of Stillpoint Studies
Six years ago, our combined 21 years of teaching gave us unique perspective on what we considered to be a void when it came to Aromatherapy education. Our massage practice, Stillpoint: Living in Balance, had given us a deep connection with the body, mind and spirit. Though we could bring those elements of being into balance for our clients, we felt that those seeking education did not have access to the same balance.
It was our goal from day one to instill a philosophy of well-rounded use of essential oils. Balanced Aromatherapy education focuses on blending, neat usage, and internal usage of essential oils. It takes deep understanding and respect for the healing power of plants to know when, where, how, what, and why to apply essential oils.
The Stillpoint Studies Teaching Approach
We take a wholly unique approach to Aromatherapy education by blending essential oil chemistry, energetics, folklore and the synergy between those three aspects. This approach sets us apart and gives our students the opportunity to establish an unprecedented relationship with the oils and with their own intuitive healing nature.
As early childhood educators, we both felt strongly about fostering independent thinkers. This has carried over into our philosophy with Aromatherapy education. We empower our students to move forward with their knowledge of how to incorporate essential oils into their daily lives.
Our goal is to give students the power to fly free with confidence solid knowledge base to create and be pioneers in the Aromatherapy field.
Well over 200 students have experienced our weekend workshops, Aromatherapy Certification Program, Advanced Certification, Teacher Training and one-day classes. We connect regularly with over 10,000 Aromatherapy practitioners and essential oil enthusiasts who share our passion for teaching and learning.
Accredited and Continuing Education Units (CEUs)
Stillpoint Studies: School of Essential Oils and Energetics is accredited by The Alliance of International Aromatherapists (AIA) as well as The National Association of Holistic Aromatherapy (NAHA), the governing bodies for national and international educational standards for Aromatherapists. All courses are also approved National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork (NCBTMB) for CEUs.
The Stillpoint Studies Classroom Setting
All courses and workshops at Stillpoint Studies take place in our home in Sedona, Arizona. As educators and healers, we set out to give students the most comfortable learning setting possible. A common lecture area provides ample room for guided study, while our spa-like home provides plenty of quiet spaces for independent learning and group study.
We believe that students are more receptive to learning when they’re comfortable, happy and well-rested. That’s why we provide refreshments and comfortable options to sit and lounge during courses. This non-traditional approach gives students more time to focus on essential oils and connecting with the healing powers of plants and trees.
